Dr. Varu is a Double Board Certified Vascular Surgeon

Dr. Varu’s clinical acumen includes all aspects of open arterial and venous surgery, although he champions a more minimally-invasive approach when feasible. He is one of only a few interventionalists in the Central Texas area who is trained to perform the cutting-edge implantation of Fenestrated and Branched endografts for complex abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA) in addition to many cutting-edge interventions.

In addition to his clinical and surgical expertise, Dr. Varu has authored 12 peer-reviewed articles and has been the primary author on four textbook chapters related to vascular disease. He has presented his research at prominent scientific meetings throughout the United States and Canada. He is also a registered physician in vascular interpretation (RPVI), the highest standard in vascular ultrasound interpretation.
